Build Relationships
It’s all about relationships. How many times have you heard that phrase…especially when it refers to managing student behavior?
Well, it’s true. Everyone, adults as well as children, want to be acknowledged. Everyone wants to feel that someone cares. When students feel that their teacher truly cares about them, they are more likely to perform well in class, both academically and behaviorally.
The same holds true for adults. When you know that your administrator cares about you, how do you respond? Take a personal interest in your students and in your colleagues. See how that effects your day, your classroom, and your relationships with your team mates.
